Green Pomegranate in Whole Foods
Up-cycled. Organic. Sustainable Stylish. The name “Green Pomegranate” may sound like exotic produce, but it’s really the newest line of couture children’s clothing locally produced in Atlanta from vintage linens and re-purposed finds. And as of today, Green Pomegranate does have something in common with your favorite fruits: it’s making its debut at Whole Foods. Now moms can efficiently shop for their tiniest fashionistas (while scoring dinner) among other trusted, environmentally correct baby and child products at Whole Foods’ Briarcliff location. The premium grocer is just a few miles from Green Pomegranate’s flagship boutique in the upscale Virginia Highlands neighborhood where designer Karen Anne Briggs curates a limited selection of hand-crafted
pillowcase dresses, pinafores, bubble rompers, vintage toys and timeless treasures. She says Green Pomegranate not only embraces today’s need for renewable, “green” products, but also serves as a tribute to the resourcefulness of 1950’s era homemakers and the age of good clean fun. For clothing that blurs the lines between practical and pampered, salvage and sophisticate, Karen seeks out cast away materials from rural cotton mills to urban Salvation Army stores in order to piece together nostalgic fashions from her youth, thoughtfully re-imagined for today’s child.
